Spent $350 on a virtual staging subscription and got zero leads
I paid for a year of that fancy virtual staging software thinking it would make my listings pop. But every zillow click just bounced off because the furniture looked too fake and clients didn't trust the photos. Has anyone actually gotten a buyer through virtual staging or is it all just a waste?

Actually prices went up this year, $350 is standard for a solid single listing now.

Those virtual staging photos always look like a dollhouse, clients can tell something's off. Spent $200 on a trial myself once and the edges of the furniture were blurred weird, buyers just said it felt dishonest. Did you try mixing in some real, unfurnished shots alongside the staged ones to see if that built more trust?

Virtual staging has its place, but you have to use it right. Those super fake looking rooms with pillows floating and shadows off are a dead giveaway and people hate that. Better to find a photographer who does real staging photos with actual furniture, even if it's just a few key pieces. The lower end virtual stuff is honestly a waste because buyers can spot the CGI from a mile away and assume you're hiding something. Real estate is about trust and virtual staging that looks like a video game breaks that trust immediately. You'd be better off with good lighting and an empty clean room than bad fake furniture.
