Tried a standing desk for 3 weeks, went back to sitting and felt way more focused
I got one of those adjustable standing desks from FlexiSpot and forced myself to stand for at least 4 hours a day. After those 3 weeks my knees hurt and I kept getting distracted adjusting the height, so I just set it low again and my productivity jumped back up. Anyone else find standing desks overhyped for actual freelancing work?

Dude I feel you. Standing all day does a number on your knees and lower back after a while. I tried one for a month and ended up just pacing around my house instead of actually getting work done, plus I was always messing with the height knob. Sometimes sitting just works better for focus, plain and simple.

Alternating every 30 mins saved my joints, for real.

Are you kidding me? I've had the exact opposite experience. I switched to a standing desk about 6 months ago and my focus actually improved because I'm not slouching and getting that weird sleepy feeling after lunch. Sure, the first week my legs were sore (I'm not gonna lie about that) but I started using one of those squishy anti-fatigue mats and it made a huge difference. I keep mine at a set height and never fiddle with it, so maybe that's the trick? Quiet standing while I'm coding is way more productive for me than sitting like a lump.
