Back in 2019, I forgot to file my quarterly taxes and got hit with a $1,200 penalty.

I was on a beach in Florida, thinking the project money was all mine, until the IRS letter showed up and I had to scramble to pay it from my emergency fund, which honestly wasn't big enough yet lol.

Remember when we thought adulting was just paying rent? The IRS penalty is the real membership fee. I once mixed up the dates so bad I almost funded a whole new government department by accident.
