Took me 3 hours to figure out my desk was wobbling because of a loose screw under the leg cap

I kept thinking it was the floor or my chair, so I wasted two evenings shimming everything. Finally flipped the desk over and spotted a tiny screw that had backed out maybe 2 millimeters. Has anyone else spent way too long hunting down a simple fix in their home office setup?

Used to roll my eyes at people who checked screws first, but after my own nightmare with a wobble last year I totally get it now. @mason_murray8's tip about checking after moving the desk is something I definitely wish I'd heard sooner. Did you find any other loose bits while you were under there?

I had the exact same issue with my standing desk a few months back. Drove me crazy thinking the floor was uneven or my cheap casters were junk. Finally grabbed a flashlight and crawled under there to find a screw on the crossbar that had wiggled loose by maybe half a turn. Tightened it up and the wobble completely disappeared. Now I make it a habit to check all the screws and bolts every few months, especially after moving the desk around. Such a small thing but it makes a huge difference for your whole setup.

Wait, was it a super annoying wobble that only showed up when you had your forearms on the desk typing? I went through the exact same thing and it was the tiniest loose bolt too, it's wild how such a small thing messes up the whole feel.
