Our street's new security camera system has this weird flicker issue after dark

I live in a quiet area and we all chipped in for a new camera system. It works fine during the day but at night the feeds start flickering badly. We've checked the wiring and power supply, everything seems okay. It's causing missed alerts and false alarms from moving shadows. I'm thinking maybe the infrared sensors are faulty or something. Has anyone dealt with this before? Looking for tips or if we should switch to a different brand.

Actually, it's probably the infrared cut filter getting stuck, not the sensors. That little mechanical piece switches for night vision and can fail.

Reminds me of my old webcam doing that exact thing.

My old Canon DSLR had that exact problem last year. The infrared filter would stick sometimes, making all my photos look washed out. It's a real pain to deal with, especially when you're trying to shoot at night. I ended up having to send it in for repair, which took weeks. Hope you can get it fixed without too much hassle.

Yeah, the infrared cut filter issue miles_chen mentioned is common. I read that dust or moisture can cause it to stick, especially in outdoor cameras.
