Pro tip: My buddy in Denver said to always check the battery life specs on a review site before buying a wireless mouse.
I bought one that claimed 6 months but only got 3 weeks, so now I cross-reference at least two different review sites before any gadget purchase.

Man, tell me about it. Bought a "waterproof" phone case once for a fishing trip. Looked bulletproof on the box. Dropped my phone in six inches of water. Phone was toast. Now I just assume every product description is a lie until I prove it wrong. Saves me the heartache. I guess the lesson is never trust the hype, just trust the reviews from people who already learned the hard way.

Honestly, I just stick with the big brand names for stuff like that. They usually get the battery life right on the first try. Saves me a ton of time checking reviews.
