Can we talk about pegboard vs slatwall for garage walls?
I swear everyone I see in here is all about pegboard, but I tried it in my garage outside Phoenix and the hooks kept falling off when it got hot. Slatwall held up fine through two summers now, no sagging. Am I missing something or is pegboard just cheap and people deal with it? Has anyone else had their pegboard fail on them in a hot garage?

Right there with you on that. My pegboard in Phoenix turned into a damn potato chip shape after one summer, warped right off the wall. Hooks would just fall off if I so much as brushed against them, and forget hanging anything heavy like my lawn gear. The slatwall has been a tank though, even with my mower attachments hanging off it for two years straight now. Pegboard feels like something you buy because it's cheap at the hardware store, not because it actually works in a real garage.

...and of course I'm the guy who mounted his pegboard upside down the first time, so maybe don't take my advice. But yeah, I'm with you on the heat thing. My garage in Texas turned my pegboard into a wavy mess within a year, and the hooks would just pop off like they were trying to escape. Slatwall's been solid though, even with me hanging my heavy-ass bike stuff on it. I feel like pegboard's just one of those things everyone buys because their dad had it in the 80s.
