Spent $400 on a LinkedIn premium month and got zero clients from it
Figured I'd try it out for January since I had some slow time. Paid $399 for the whole month with the sales navigator add on. Messaged like 30 people in Houston tech companies, got 2 replies, both said they weren't hiring or looking. Ended up getting more work from a Facebook group I didn't even pay for. Anyone else get burned on that or did I just use it wrong?

$30 per message for two polite rejections is a pretty solid return on investment if you ask me. LinkedIn premium basically lets you pay to get told "no" faster than you could for free. The Facebook group was probably full of actual humans anyway which is the real hack here.

Honestly I used to think the paid LinkedIn stuff was worth it too... but after reading this I'm kinda rethinking that whole approach. Facebook groups really do seem more real for connecting with people.

Skip the paid plans and join local industry Facebook groups instead. Shane_wilson is right about that.
