That $700 client who paid instantly turned into a 6 month nightmare
First job was smooth, but after that they started paying 45 days late every single time, and the last invoice they just ghosted me. Anyone else have a fast payer turn into a slow pay warning sign?

45 days late every single time" would've been my first red flag. I had a client do the exact same thing where they paid fast at first then started dragging out payments until they vanished on the final invoice too.

Maybe set your payment terms to due on receipt instead of net 30, that helps filter them out.

Nail on the head with that pattern, it's like they test the waters with fast payment then slowly train you to accept their bad habits. Did you ever figure out a way to spot those clients before the first invoice hit?
