Tried chasing invoices with automated reminders vs. personal texts - not even close

I spent 6 months using QuickBooks auto-reminders and got paid on time maybe 30% of the time. Switched to sending a personal text message 3 days after the due date (you know, just a quick "hey, checking on payment") and my on-time rate jumped to 80% in the first 2 months. The automated stuff just gets ignored or goes to spam, I swear. Plus with texts they can't pretend they didn't see it, right? Has anyone else tried ditching the automation for actual human contact with late payers?

Man, that's exactly what I found too. The automated stuff just gets buried or deleted without a second thought. I started sending a quick text like "Hey just a friendly reminder" and it works way better because it feels personal, not like another bill. People are way more likely to respond to a real person than to some computer voice or email. I swear it cuts down on the awkwardness too since they know you're actually waiting on their money.

Wait, did your friend ever try that texting thing too? Because my buddy runs a small landscaping company and he was having the same issue with QuickBooks reminders getting ignored. So he started just shooting a casual text to his late clients, nothing pushy just "hey man, whenever you get a chance on that invoice." He told me within like a month his on-time payments went from maybe 40% to almost 75% and he actually got a few of them to pay same day. The funny part is one guy replied "oh crap sorry I forgot" and paid in like 10 minutes, which never happened with the automated stuff.
