PSA: My external hard drive died at 2 AM with 3 client files unsaved
I was just wrapping up a graphic design project for a local bakery in Austin when my external hard drive started clicking and then went silent. Lost three raw files that I hadn't backed up since yesterday. Now I'm sitting here at my desk with a cup of cold coffee trying to remember what I changed in the last session. Anyone else had a drive fail on them during a late-night push and lose work? What'd you do to recover?

Used to think backing up every hour was overkill but now I do it without thinking. Had to learn that lesson the hard way too, with a failed laptop drive in the middle of finals week.

Man I feel that pain. Lost an entire research paper 3 days before it was due back in college cause I thought backing up once a week was enough. Now I have a system where everything auto-syncs to two different places every 30 minutes. It's annoying until your drive dies and then it's the best thing ever.
