That 3am lightbulb moment where I noticed my coffee routine was killing my focus

I used to down a full mug of dark roast right when I sat down at midnight. Then last Tuesday I accidentally drank just water for the first hour and realized I was actually getting more done before the caffeine spike. Now I wait until 2am to start sipping and my output feels way less jittery and scattered. Anyone else find a specific time that works better for your first cup?

That "3am lightbulb moment" thing you mentioned is funny because I've noticed the same pattern with other stuff too. Like how waiting an extra 30 minutes to do something almost always makes it easier for me.

That "waiting an extra 30 minutes" bit rings true for me too.

Man I feel this so hard it's almost embarrassing. Like @ross.kim nailed it with that 3am thing, my brain refuses to work before midnight and then suddenly it's all clear. The extra 30 minute rule is basically how I prep for every single thing in my life. I once convinced myself I needed to wait 45 minutes to vacuum the living room and ended up just staring at the dust bunnies until they became art. My procrastination game is so strong I've probably wasted more time waiting than actually doing stuff. It's a real skill, honestly.
