PSA: stop sorting tasks by due date only

I kept missing dependencies on a 3 week build because I was just looking at deadlines. Started sorting by project phase instead and caught 2 blockers before they hit. Anyone else use a different view than default?

Did you try color coding phases? Helped me spot blockers way faster on a build.

Have you tried setting everything to "alphabetical" and watching the chaos unfold? Works great if you enjoy living dangerously.

Due dates are the only thing that keeps me honest on a build. If I start sorting by phase or dependencies I'll just push stuff back because it's not "ready" yet. That's how you end up with a half finished frame sitting there for two weeks because you're waiting on one bracket. Deadlines force you to call the supplier and yell until they ship. I had a job last month where the drywall was supposed to arrive on the 15th, I had it flagged as due, so I hounded them every day and it showed up on the 12th. If I had sorted by phase I would've just assumed it'd come when it comes.
