Noticed a pattern at my local diner that fixed my slow season mindset

I was sitting at the Blue Spoon Diner last Tuesday eating a grilled cheese, and I saw this older guy come in and order the same thing every 20 minutes. The waitress told me he's a retired plumber who does small calls for cash, and he just waits there until his phone rings. It hit me that I've been panicking during slow weeks instead of just having a routine spot where I can be ready for work. So I started doing Monday mornings at the diner with my laptop, and I've picked up two quick projects from people who saw me working there and asked what I do. It's not a magic fix, but it keeps me from spiraling when nothing's coming in through email. Has anyone else found a random spot that just works better than their home desk?

Used to think I had to be at home to be productive but now I see how being out changes your whole mindset. Might have to try this myself.

Been reading about how changing your environment can actually rewire your brain a bit. @gray314 you're not wrong, getting out of the house flips a switch that your home office just can't hit.

Man, that diner thing is smart. Gets you out of your own head for sure.
