Noticed my local coffee shop raised drink prices by $0.75 this month, feels like a quiet signal to find a cheaper workspace.
I usually work from the corner table at Bean & Brew in Portland. Last week I saw the menu sign got updated. A medium latte jumped from $4.50 to $5.25. Over a full month of 20 work days, that is $15 extra just for sitting there. Has anyone else caught their usual spot hiking prices and switched to a different cafe or the library?

Bring a thermos from home and save more than the price hike covers.

Funny you mention that, @quinn341. The library thing and the thermos idea are part of the same pattern I've been noticing everywhere. It feels like every little thing now has a hidden fee or a price jump that you can dodge if you're paying attention. People are basically having to become experts in spotting workarounds just to keep from bleeding money. Like, it's not even about being cheap anymore, it's more about not getting taken for a ride on the little stuff.
