Why does nobody talk about how slow season is actually a good thing for networking

I was chatting with a retired graphic designer at the coffee shop last Tuesday and she said slow months are the only time she ever really built real connections, not just sending quick emails. It hit me different because I always panic and try to hustle harder when work dries up, but maybe I should be using that time to actually talk to people instead. Has anyone else found that quiet periods led to better long-term gigs than the busy rushes did?

Well I read somewhere that slow seasons are when people actually have time to remember you exist, and Logan271 might be onto something about Tuesday being weird but at least she was out talking instead of sending emails.

Tuesday is actually a weird day for a retired person to be out.

Bet you don't know what day of the week the grocery store discounts meat.
