Warning: that payment reminder app I trusted just double-billed a client

I set up automated reminders through a popular app last month and it sent a duplicate invoice notice to a client who'd already paid. The client was confused and a little annoyed since they'd just confirmed the bank transfer. I had to call them and refund a processing fee I never should have charged. Has anyone else had automation tools create more problems than they solved?

Man, I swear automation is just a fancy way to let a robot make the same mistakes I do but faster. I once set up a recurring invoice reminder and ended up emailing a client six times in one week because I didn't double-check the settings. So yeah, you are definitely not alone in this mess.

I read a piece in a small business newsletter recently that said these automation apps often skip basic checks for duplicate payments, which seems like a huge oversight for something handling money. Sorry you had to deal with that, it sounds like a real headache.
