That cheap caulking gun from the hardware store cost me a weekend of redo work (the $15 one actually works way better)

Get yourself a Dripless brand caulking gun next time instead of the cheap one. I wasted a whole tube of silicone before I figured out that the trigger mechanism on those budget guns lets the rod slip back and undo all your work. The extra ten bucks saves you from crying over a lumpy bead that you gotta scrape off and do again.

Fair point but my cheap gun works fine if you keep pressure on the trigger.
