I finally figured out why my home office lights were making me tired by noon

Took me like 8 months to realize the problem. I had those cheap LED bulbs from the hardware store that flicker at 60hz. You cant see it but your eyes pick up on it and it drains you. I swapped to some daylight balanced 5000k bulbs from the lighting supply house near my shop and suddenly I can work until 3pm without my eyes hurting. Has anyone else dealt with that weird eye strain from home office lighting?

Oh man, same here! I swapped to 5000k bulbs and it fixed my headaches in like two days.

Used to be one of those people who rolled their eyes at light bulb talk, like how much difference could it really make? Then my office switched to those cooler bulbs and my afternoon grumpiness went way down. My eyes feel less tired after staring at a screen all day too. Maybe it's just me but I actually look forward to being in that room now instead of wanting to leave by 2pm.

Had a buddy from the shop complain about the same thing... he spent six months blaming his coffee for making him jittery and tired. Turns out those flickering bulbs were messing with his head something fierce. He finally swapped 'em out after I told him about my setup, and he said it was like a weight lifted off his eyes. Now he's one of those guys who carries a spare daylight bulb in his truck just in case. Said his wife thought he was losing it until she sat in his office for an afternoon and felt the difference herself.
