Honestly I think I just got lucky and stopped overthinking it. My big brain moment was basically throwing my fancy plans out and going back to basics like a total noob, which is kind of hilarious.

lol my buddy had the same problem. he kept his beans in the cabinet and they tasted like nothing. then he got one of those airtight tins and now he won't shut up about how good his coffee is.

Huh, that's wild, but old phone lines usually don't spark when you hit them. They're low power, so cutting them might just kill the line without any big sparks. You're right though, all that old stuff hidden in walls makes scanning really important now.
