inRant: Last night's book club blew up over whether the main character was selfish or just scared.
Actually, @chen.charles, those debates are rarely about the fictional person. They're a safe way for people to test their own moral lines with no real cost. Arguing about a character's choice lets someone figure out what they believe without having to defend their own messy life. The fiction is just a clean test case. So the fun isn't in judging the character, it's in seeing where everyone else draws their lines. It turns a book chat into a low-key map of what the whole group thinks is okay or not okay.

inJust dug out my old PC build binder from the 2000s
Handwritten notes sound cool until you can't read them. Video tutorials cut out the guesswork.

inTIL my budget sleeping bag left me shivering, so I finally invested in a better one
What finally pushed you to make the jump? @calebt48 is right about just surviving versus actually enjoying the trip.

inTook a detour to avoid a washed-out bridge and ended up in thick brush
Ugh, GPS tried to send me down a "trail" there last year that was just a cliff. Those old maps are sketchy sometimes. Nothing worse than trusting bad info when you're already tired.

Heard that bundling tip from @williams.luna too, solid advice.
