Finally got through a full day of climbing without my hands cramping up once
After six weeks of doing those grip exercises with the stress ball, I managed a big oak prune in Tacoma without having to stop and shake out my hands, which felt like a huge win.

Nice! It's wild how those small, boring routines end up being the key to the big stuff.

Totally true, and it's a lesson I keep learning the hard way. My own big plans usually fall apart because I skip the boring daily step. It's like my brain thinks the exciting goal will just happen by magic. The number of half-finished projects I have is honestly a little sad.

Honestly I get that, but I'd push back a little on calling them boring. It's more about finding the right tiny step. Like, my goal was to read more, and forcing an hour a night felt like a chore. Swapping it to just ten pages with my morning coffee made it a normal part of my day, not some big boring task. The routine itself shouldn't feel like a drag, or you'll never stick with it. It's about making the small action so easy it's automatic.

Agree completely about making it automatic. I started just putting my running shoes by the door every night, no big plan to run. Seeing them there made it way easier to actually go in the morning. The tiny prep step did all the heavy lifting for me.
