Appreciation post: I was wrong about that new clear coat system

Three years ago at the trade show in Chicago, a rep told me it was just overpriced hype. I finally used it on a 2018 Mustang last month and the orange peel correction was effortless. Anyone have a good alternative for older single-stage paints?

Oh, I had the exact same thing happen. I was so sure it was just marketing talk until I tried it on a black Mercedes hood. The way it leveled out was a total game changer, I cut my sanding time in half. I've been using it on everything with a modern base coat for about a year now. For the old single-stage stuff, I still go back to the old two-part polish method, it just seems to play nicer with the softer paint.

Ever run into issues with the newer stuff on older clear coats? @angela728 is totally right about sticking with the two-part method for single-stage paint, it just works better without hazing up. That old paint really needs that gentler approach to come out right.

My barber switched to a new ceramic razor last year and I gave him so much crap about it. Now my shave is twice as fast and I look like an idiot for doubting him.
