inFixed a flickering monitor by baking the main board in my oven
You baked a monitor board in your actual kitchen oven. That's a wild level of DIY commitment right there. I'm just picturing the smell.

inI finally stopped fighting a tough clinch by just changing my hammer angle
Ever think we get too stuck on the "right" way to do things? Like with that nail, the perfect straight hit is the textbook answer, but the wood doesn't read the book. It's all about reading the material in front of you, not just the tool in your hand. Makes me wonder how much time we waste forcing a straight line when a little smart bend would get us there faster.

inAppreciation post: I was wrong about that new clear coat system
Ever run into issues with the newer stuff on older clear coats? @angela728 is totally right about sticking with the two-part method for single-stage paint, it just works better without hazing up. That old paint really needs that gentler approach to come out right.

inBack in 2015 at the Asheville repair meetup, I saw a guy fix a cracked PS4 HDMI port with a hot air station for the first time.
Remember trying to convince yourself the mess was just part of the process? I used to swear by the iron and flux method, thinking it made you a better tech. Seeing someone do it cleanly and fast with the right tool didn't just change my method, it changed my whole view on what skill actually is. Sometimes the right gear just lets you do better work without the extra struggle.

inMy client's husband thought I was a plumber because of my tool bag
Oh man, that's hilarious. I had a client once ask if my mixing bowls were for a new kind of salad. Like yeah, I'm just out here carrying a giant metal bowl of croutons and a hand blender for the dressing. What's the weirdest guess you've gotten? I bet some people see the foils and think you're wrapping leftovers.
