Finally tried that new ceramic clear coat next to our standard stuff on a test panel

The difference in gloss after just one week outside is NIGHT and day, the ceramic held up way better. Anyone else made the switch and have a brand they trust?

Switched to a ceramic coat last year and it's a total game changer. My car still beads water like crazy even after a rough winter.

I mean, it's just a car coating. How much difference can it really make in the long run? I've seen people spend a ton on those treatments and their paint still gets swirl marks and water spots. It seems like a lot of hype for something that just makes water bead up. My old car with regular wax did that too for a few months.

Honestly, the hype is way overblown. It's just a harder layer of wax, basically. You still have to wash the car right to avoid swirls, and if you get a scratch, it's way harder to fix than with a regular coat. For the crazy price, I just don't see the real world value lasting more than a year or two before it wears down.
