Had a weird vibration on a 2015 Ford Escape that only showed up after 45 minutes of driving

It was a customer drop off last Tuesday, and they said it felt fine for the first part of their commute. I took it for a long test drive and sure enough, right around the 40 minute mark, this low rumble started in the floorboard. I put it on the lift after it cooled down and found the passenger side inner CV boot was torn, but it wasn't slinging grease yet. Has anyone else seen a vibration that only comes on once the joint gets fully heated up?

That sounds like a real pain to track down.

Actually it was pretty straightforward.

That 40 minute mark is a very specific failure point. Did you check if the vibration changed at all when you turned the wheel, or was it purely speed based once it showed up? I've had a heat soaked joint start to bind just enough to feel it through the steering column.
