Dropped $900 on a fancy fire pit table and now I'm second guessing it

I bought this nice gas fire pit table from a local shop in Phoenix back in March, figured it'd be great for hosting backyard hangouts. First two weekends were awesome, but then the flame started flickering weird and the ignition button broke after just 4 uses. Am I the only one who thinks these things are overpriced junk or did I just pick a bad one?

is it really that deep though? yeah it sucks your fancy fire pit broke but $900 isn't that much in the grand scheme of things, and if it's not covered under warranty just get a $20 igniter kit from home depot.

Yeah but that's a gas unit you're talking about, not a wood burning one. Gas ones have all those little parts that can go bad real quick, especially in Phoenix where the heat messes with seals and electronics. I had a similar thing happen with a gas grill once, the igniter went out after a month because the plastic parts just got baked in the sun. If you bought it from a local shop they might actually fix it for you, a lot of those places stand behind their stuff better than the big box stores.

Heat's definitely hard on gas units, but hey @lisab32 wood burners have simple igniter issues too.
