I finally stopped using treated lumber for my raised beds after a friend's warning
My buddy saw my new veggie garden and asked if I knew about the copper in pressure-treated wood... he said it can slowly get into the soil and your food. I swapped it all out for cedar after that, which cost about $80 more for the project. Has anyone else made a switch like this after getting a heads-up?

Is it even a real risk though?

People dismiss small risks all the time until they happen (like not backing up your phone). It's a weird human habit.

Ever notice how we do that with everything? Like not saving a document while you're working, or ignoring that weird noise your car makes for weeks. Caseywalker is totally right, we all just shrug and say "it'll be fine" until the moment it isn't. Then you're the person crying over a lost phone full of photos or stuck on the side of the road. It's like our brains are wired to ignore the tiny warning signs until they scream at us.
