My backyard hammock naps used to feel like a waste of time

I used to feel guilty for lying in the hammock all afternoon. Now I see those quiet hours as key for my mind. Back then, everyone was always busy with yard work. These days, I make sure to just be still out there. It's a small change that means a lot.

Took me years to stop calling it a lazy day and start calling it a brain reset. My whole mood gets better after just hanging there, not trying to fix or do anything. It's not doing nothing, it's the main thing for a bit.

That reframe from lazy to reset is so real... it's like what @tessarodriguez said about letting your brain idle. You have to stop feeling bad for just being still sometimes. It really is the main thing.

Felt this hard. Got a cheap hammock last year and my weekends changed. Just lying there staring at the trees feels like hitting a refresh button.

Totally get this. My rope hammock used to just collect leaves while I did chores. Now it's where I watch the clouds or just listen to the neighbor's wind chimes. That shift from feeling lazy to seeing it as needed downtime changed my whole summer. Letting your brain just idle for a bit is a real thing.
