I just spent three whole days figuring out why my sourdough starter kept dying in the new apartment.

My starter hated my last place's tap water.

Man, this is everywhere now. People blame their tools or their environment when a process just needs time. Sourdough starters, house plants, even learning a new skill. We expect instant results and tweak things too fast instead of letting a system settle. It's like we forgot how to wait for anything.

Tap water can actually kill a starter...

Honestly, three days is pretty quick for troubleshooting a new starter. My last one took over a week to adjust after I moved to Denver, the altitude change really messed with it. Sometimes you just have to stick with the same feeding schedule and let the local yeast cultures win out. It's rarely the apartment itself, more about patience and consistent routine.
