I just logged my 500th flat tire repair from this one specific trailhead parking lot

I mean, it's a gravel trail system, but the lot itself is paved. I started keeping a tally out of curiosity maybe two years back. The number is just wild to me. It's always the same thing: tiny, sharp gravel bits that get kicked up into the lot. People drive over them, they embed in their tires, and then they transfer to the bike tires when they're loading or unloading. I've gotten to the point where I can spot the culprit gravel just by looking at the puncture. Has anyone else noticed a single location that generates a crazy repeat issue like this? I'm thinking of putting a sign up or something.

Man, I gotta side with fionat55 on this one. That's just part of the deal with a gravel area, and @zarat37 might be overthinking it. After 500, maybe it's time to just air down your tires a bit before you roll through there.

Why are you even counting that? Sounds like you're just looking for a problem where there isn't one. Gravel in a gravel trail lot is normal, just check your tires like everyone else.

Wasn't there a post last week about someone getting a flat from a sharp rock in that same lot? Might be more than just normal gravel.
