Honestly, I was at a coffee shop in Denver and two guys were arguing about whether you should binge a show fast or take your time with it. One said you lose the details if you rush, the other said the hype dies if you wait. What's the better way to watch?

Lose the details if you rush" used to be my take. Then I forced myself to slow down with a complex show and actually got bored between episodes. Binging keeps me in the world and the story fresh. Now I just watch at whatever pace feels right.

Yeah @derek_ross, forcing a slower pace just makes me forget stuff. I keep a simple note on my phone for big shows, just a line or two after each episode. Lets me binge but still catch the details.

But I lose the thread if I wait too long.

Totally get the losing the thread thing, but for me the boredom Derek mentioned is the real killer. I tried the one episode a week thing with a show full of tiny clues, and by the next Friday I had zero emotional connection left. It felt like homework. Binging a whole season in a weekend? That's when the story actually STICKS, because I'm living in it.
