Stop calling every 8 episode show a 'limited series'
I keep seeing people say they're watching a limited series and then it gets a season 2 announcement. Last month alone I heard 3 people call The Night Agent a limited series when it literally got renewed after 2 weeks. Why are we normalizing this? Networks are just calling everything a limited series to get buzz without committing. Has anyone else noticed Netflix doing this with basically every show now?

ok but is nobody gonna call out how apple tv does this too? they tagged "Masters of the Air" as limited and now suddenly there's chatter about more episodes. just commit to a format or don't. it's not that hard.

Watched a show called "Limited" on some streaming service. Turned out it was just the title, not the format. It got cancelled after 6 episodes though, so I guess that was technically limited.

Netflix is just rebranding "cancelled after one season" as a creative choice now.

Man I just started watching this show that was marketed as a limited series and now I see articles about season 2 plans. Its exhausting trying to keep up with what's actually a one and done. The way I handle it now is I wait until a show has been out for at least a year so I can see if it gets renewed before I start calling it anything. That approach saved me from looking dumb when I told my friend The Watcher was a limited series and then it got picked up for another season.
