Yeah, the auto-renew thing is such a trap. I do exactly what @angela728 said now, I set a phone reminder for like two days before the charge date. I also started using a prepaid debit card with just enough on it for the first month, so if I do forget, the charge just gets declined. It's a bit extra maybe, but after getting hit with three months of a fitness app I never opened, I had to get serious about it.

Ugh, does anyone else just set a calendar alert the second they sign up now? I used to think I'd remember, but after getting burned by a streaming service for like four months, I changed my mind. It's so easy to forget when it just auto-renews. I mean, I literally have to put a reminder in my phone for the day before it charges me, or it's gone. Maybe it's just me, but that one mistake made me super careful about it now.

My calendar is full of those alerts now, @angela728, after I lost $60 to a forgotten app subscription last year.
