Giving my plants a boost with leftover coffee grounds

I started using old coffee grounds in my garden. It's a good way to recycle and help plants grow. Coffee grounds add nitrogen to the soil, which plants need. My roses bloomed more after I mixed in grounds. Just sprinkle them around the base, no need to buy plant food. It saves cash and cuts down on trash. Do you use kitchen scraps for your plants too?

Oh nice! I tried that once but forgot and just left a moldy pile next to my succulents... they were not impressed.

Actually that mold is just breaking stuff down for the plants.

Mix coffee grounds into compost first. I've seen that it cuts down on mold and helps plants better. But test it on a few plants before going all in.

Ugh, be careful with that. Coffee grounds can really mess up your soil's acidity and stop some plants from taking in nutrients. I tried it on my tomatoes and they got all stunted and yellow. Plus it can make a crust that water can't get through. Sometimes the old ways are better than just dumping kitchen waste everywhere.
