I finally saw my coffee habit for what it was after a bank app alert
For years, I'd grab a latte on my way to work, no big deal. It was just part of my morning. Then last month, my bank app sent one of those 'spending review' emails. It said I'd spent $87 just at coffee shops in the last 30 days. I almost deleted it, but that number stuck with me. I did the math and realized that was over a thousand bucks a year, just on drinks I barely even tasted because I was rushing. The tip-off wasn't the money itself, but seeing it laid out so plainly next to my grocery bill. I felt kinda dumb for not adding it up sooner. Now I make a big pot at home and put that cash toward my car payment instead. Anyone else get shocked by one of those automated spending reports?

Man, that's rough. My buddy Dave got hit with the same thing from a food delivery app and nearly fell off his chair. He started meal prepping on Sundays and now his wallet looks a lot happier.

Oh man, those reports are brutal. Mine showed I spent like $60 on delivery fees last month. Just fees! Now I actually go pick the food up.

That's a smart move, luna261. I started doing the same after my own report shocked me. Does picking it up yourself actually change what you order, or do you find you still get the same things? I wonder if the extra step makes us think twice about buying food we don't really need.

Honestly, it totally changes my order. I'll skip the extra drink or side I don't need because I'm the one who has to go get it. That walk to the car makes me question if I really want those loaded fries.
