Picked up a bread machine at a garage sale for $8

Honestly, I never thought I'd use one, but I saw it sitting there in Lakewood last Saturday and figured why not. I've made three loaves so far, and each one costs me maybe $1.50 in flour and yeast instead of $5 at the bakery. The first loaf was a little dense, but the second one came out perfect. Has anyone else found a cheap kitchen tool that actually saved them money?

So how long are you gonna stick with it before it ends up in the back of a cabinet? Not trying to be a jerk, I'm genuinely curious. Most people I know who bought bread machines used them for two weeks then never touched them again. The recipes online are all over the place too. Did you find a specific one that worked for the second loaf?

Maybe I'll frame it and call it modern art instead.

Ha, I know what you mean @ivan462, my first loaf looked like a failed science experiment.
