Spent three hours setting up a weekly spread and then realized I forgot my habit tracker

I sat down Sunday night with my new Leuchtturm and a cup of coffee, ready to get organized for the week. I mapped out my daily logs, a tasks section, even color coded my appointments for the kids. After about three hours of drawing boxes and filling in headers, I stood back to admire it. That's when I noticed I completely left out my habit tracker column. It's like the one thing I actually use to keep myself accountable for drinking water and reading. I had to either squeeze it in along the margin or start over on the next page. I ended up taping in a little folded insert, which looks janky but works. Has anyone else ever spent way too long on a layout only to realize you missed something obvious?

Man I used to think people who did this stuff were just being way too extra with their notebooks. Like why do you need a whole system for brushing your teeth? But then I tried setting up a proper bullet journal layout last month and spent like two hours on a weekly spread only to realize I forgot to leave room for my mood tracker. It totally changed my mind about why people get so detailed with this stuff. Now I get it, when you actually invest the time to make it look nice you feel more motivated to actually use it. Your tape fix sounds janky but honestly that's the whole spirit of bullet journaling right there, making it work even when it looks janky.

Two hours just to forget the mood tracker? That's rookie numbers, gotta pump those up.

Nah, spending hours on layout kinda defeats the whole point for me...
