Appreciation post: A client's old Polaroid SX-70 taught me a lesson about patience

This lady brought in her dad's SX-70 from 1975, and the viewfinder was totally dark, so I figured the mirror was stuck. I spent three hours carefully taking it apart, and it turned out a tiny piece of old foam had just fallen onto the mirror mechanism. Has anyone else had a simple fix after expecting a huge repair?

Love those stories where the fix is stupid simple. @anna_price69, that pebble thing is exactly it. I tore apart a whole record player once because one channel was dead, convinced it was a bad tube. Spent hours on it. The problem? The balance knob on the amp was just turned all the way to the left. You get that mix of relief and pure annoyance, right? Makes you wonder how much time we all spend overthinking the easy stuff.

Lol, that's the best kind of fix. I once spent a whole afternoon trying to figure out why a faucet had no pressure, only to find a single pebble stuck in the aerator. Felt like a total genius and a total idiot at the same time.

Ever read that old saying about the last place you look is where you find it?
