Just blew $80 on a 'universal' tent repair kit that fixed nothing
My old rainfly got a small tear during a trip to the Red River Gorge, so I grabbed this kit with patches and glue. The adhesive wouldn't set in the damp air and the whole patch peeled off overnight, letting water right in. What's a repair method that actually works in wet conditions?

Ever tried duct tape as a quick fix?

Duct tape is basically a temporary life hack, @the_max. It fixes everything until it doesn't.

Totally true. Watched my buddy patch a hole in his garden hose with it last summer. Worked for about a week before it blew off and soaked him. Good for silencing a rattling car door panel on a road trip, but that's about it. You just know it's gonna fail at the worst possible time.

Oh man, I've been there with the garden hose thing. I used duct tape to fix a split in a drip line once and it actually held up for like two months, but only because I wrapped it extra tight and put a zip tie over the ends to keep it from peeling. The car door thing is spot on though - I did that on my old Civic during a road trip to stop the rattling, and it got me all the way to the next state before I had to redo it. What kind of fixes have you tried that actually lasted longer than you expected?
