That $60 seam roller I swore was a gimmick actually saved my back

I used to think spending more than $15 on a seam roller was a waste. Picked up a weighted one from a supply house in Denver after a buddy swore by it during a 1,200 square foot job last month. That extra heft made a huge difference on the seams and I didn't have to lean over as much. Have any of you tried a heavier roller and noticed the same thing?

My buddy Dave told me a pretty wild story about this. He was doing this huge basement remodel a few months back and his back was just destroyed from leaning over all day. His chiropractor actually recommended he try one of those weighted rollers and Dave thought he was nuts. He finally caved and bought one from a local tool shop. Dude said it was like night and day after the first day using it. He could actually stand up straight at the end of the shift instead of hobbling to his truck lmao.

my buddy had back surgery a couple years back and swore by one of those heavier rollers on his last job. said it let him work twice as fast without wanting to die by lunchtime.

Tbh I read something a while back about how a lot of construction guys are switching to those heavier rollers because the extra weight does all the work for you. Less strain on your lower back since you're not shoving as hard. One guy on a forum said it's basically like having a mini bulldozer for concrete.
