Got paid in full by a client I was sure would ghost me
Had this guy from Tulsa who kept changing scope every week. Red flag city. I almost walked twice. But he actually paid the full $2,800 invoice on time. What convinced me to stay was he put everything in writing. Even the dumb little changes. Has anyone else had a scary client turn out okay?

There's a lot of truth to "writing things down changes everything." I had a guy who was all over the place with requests, but once I told him every change had to go in an email thread, things calmed down. It made him think twice before asking for something dumb, and it gave me something to point to when he forgot what he agreed to. Having that paper trail is really the only reason I stuck with it too, since it made the whole thing feel less like a gamble.

Writing things down changes everything. Had a painter buddy who learned that the hard way after a handshake deal went south.

Why put everything in writing when sometimes a handshake and trust are all you really need?
