Bought a $40 'eco-friendly' bamboo compostable phone case and it started falling apart after 3 months

Now I'm stuck with a flimsy case that sheds bits of bamboo into my pocket and cost me twice what a normal case would, has anyone found a phone case that actually lasts without being plastic?

Oh man, that's so frustrating lol. It's like the whole "eco-friendly" trend has turned into this weird trap where companies charge you more for something that falls apart faster. I've noticed this pattern with so many products now - reusable straws that break after a week, "sustainable" water bottles that leak, canvas bags that rip the first time you put a heavy thing in them. It feels like some brands slap that green label on just to bump up the price without actually testing if the stuff works for real life. For phone cases, I honestly just gave up and got a used plastic one from a thrift store for like 5 bucks, and it's been solid for two years now. Better to buy something sturdy secondhand than pay extra for something that can't handle being in your pocket lol.

Admit I used to blame the customer, @bell.jessica, but you're totally right.

My last "eco-friendly" phone case chipped after a month. $45 down the drain. The plastic one from the gas station is still going strong two years later. Green labels don't mean squat if the product can't survive a regular day in a truck. Thrift store find sounds like the smart play to me.
