How one neighbor pointed out my leaf blower habit at 7 AM

After using a gas leaf blower every Sunday morning for months, a neighbor finally told me the noise was bothering his kids. I switched to a rake and a corded electric blower for the driveway, and now I use the gas one maybe once a month. Has anyone else had to change their routine because someone complained about something you thought was normal?

Honestly, it sounds like you were just stuck in your own bubble, which is basically everyone's default setting these days. Nobody stops to think about how their normal routine might be a real problem for someone else until they're forced to. I feel like we're all just so used to tuning out our own noise that we forget other people can't do the same. It's not just leaf blowers either, it's the same with loud music, barking dogs, or even just parking like a jerk. The fact that you changed things up shows more respect than most people would bother with, tbh. It's a good reminder that being part of a neighborhood means actually thinking about the folks around you, not just your own schedule.
