I just hit 500 haircuts in my first year at the shop

I kept a simple tally sheet by the mirror, mostly to track product use. When I added it up last night, the total was 512, which seems crazy for a small town chair. Has anyone else been surprised by a number like that early on?

Honestly that's wild. I did the math and that's like two cuts a day, every single day you were open. Makes total sense for a busy shop but seeing it written down like that must be a trip. It's one thing to be tired at the end of the week, another to see the actual proof of all that work. Good for you, man.

Yeah, when @the_drew says it's not a crazy number for a full year, I get it. I mean, spread that out over 12 months and it looks different. It's like when you see a big total bill but then break it down to a daily cost, it feels way more normal. That kind of number just hits different when you see it all at once versus living with it day to day.
