Just realized after talking to my buddy who works IT for a school district
He said their biggest security issue isn't phishing emails but teachers leaving their laptops unlocked in classrooms, which honestly made me rethink how much I focus on complex threats vs basic stuff like locking your screen.

Oh man, that's the thing too - sometimes the basics get ignored because everyone's chasing whatever shiny new method or tool just dropped. Idk, maybe the old school stuff works for a reason but nobody wants to admit it.

Tbh I still use the same three knife skills I learned a decade ago and they haven't failed me yet.

Actually that's not quite right - the old school stuff DOES fail sometimes, it's just that people forget about the failures or never learned them in the first place. The whole point of chasing new methods is usually because someone figured out a better way to do something, not just for the sake of being new.
