Visited a shop near Nashville and their air compressor setup was a total mess
I stopped by a little diesel shop outside Nashville last week to grab a part for a 6.7 Cummins I'm working on. Walked in and saw their air compressor was sitting right next to a wall with zero ventilation. The tank had rust dripping from the drain valve too (like, actual orange streaks). I asked the guy about it and he just shrugged and said "it's always been there." Anyone else run into shops that totally ignore basic air compressor maintenance and floor layout?

And it's not just shops either, I swear that kind of attitude bleeds into everything these days. Like how people leave their grill uncovered all winter and then wonder why it rusts out in two years. Or the guy down the street who never changes his mower oil until the engine seizes up. It's like we've all gotten comfortable just letting things fall apart instead of spending five minutes on basic upkeep. A little bit of care goes a long way but nobody wants to do it anymore.

Man I feel this in my soul. Walked into a shop a few years back and their compressor was literally sitting on top of a pile of oily rags. I asked if they ever drained the tank and the guy said "drain what?" I about choked on my coffee. My own setup at home is a disaster too though, my compressor is in a corner I can barely reach to check the oil.

@ray562 hit it, people treat tools like theyre meant to be thrown away after the warranty expires.
