Dropped $60 on a Wacom screen protector and it saved my tablet from a deep scratch

I was sketching on my Cintiq 16 and a tiny piece of grit from my desk got under my pen. Now there's a permanent line across the display if I hadn't put that protector on last week. Anyone else use screen protectors for their drawing tablets or just rawdog it?

Permanent line across the display" is nightmare fuel honestly. I rawdogged my Huion for like a year until my cat decided to use it as a launchpad and left a bunch of little scratches. Now I got a cheap matte protector on it and honestly I kinda like the texture better for drawing anyway. But $60 for a screen protector feels like a lot, hope it came with a lifetime warranty or something. Still beats having a dead pixel line down your canvas forever.

Wait, isn't this how half our tech problems start, @dakota_miller93?

Permanent line across the display" is EXACTLY why I put a protector on my Huion the day I got it. My desk is basically a landing strip for crumbs and cat hair so I don't trust myself to rawdog anything expensive. $60 is steep but hey, cheaper than a new screen I guess.
