Spent a month in Bali and the 'work from cafe' thing felt totally broken

I was in Canggu, and every single cafe was packed with people on calls, making it impossible to find a quiet spot or a reliable plug. The vibe was more like a loud office than a chill place to work, and the wifi kept dropping during my client Zoom. Has anyone found a spot that actually gets this balance right, or is it just a lost cause in the big nomad hubs now?

Sounds about right. I'd have better luck fixing a car in a sandstorm.

Watched my buddy try to get a simple oil change at one of those quick-lube places last Saturday at 11am. The waiting room was packed, kids were running around screaming, and the TV was blaring some game show. He said the guys working looked totally fried, just yelling over the noise to each other. Took them almost two hours and they forgot to reset the maintenance light. He said it felt less like a service and more like surviving a riot.

Read a blog post about this. Said the early morning hours are the only quiet time left in those places. After 10am it's a lost cause.
