Update: Bought a $70 portable monitor and it actually saved my butt in Bali
Last month I was in Ubud working out of a noisy cafe and my laptop screen just felt too small. I dropped $70 on a cheap 15-inch portable monitor off Shopee and hooked it up with one USB-C cable. It gave me dual screens for the first time and I finished a client project in half the time. Anyone else find a cheap gadget that made their remote work setup way better?

Bought my buddy one of those and he said it doubled his productivity working from a hostel in Thailand.

The hostel in Thailand part is what I keep coming back to. How does he deal with the noise and the random people coming and going all day? I tried working from a coffee shop once and got zero done because of the background chatter. Did he say if he uses noise cancelling headphones or just powers through the chaos?

The dual screen thing is a game changer for real... I snagged a cheap portable monitor off Amazon for like $60 before a trip to Vietnam and it saved me in the noisiest hostel common room I've ever been in. Being able to have my writing on one screen and my research notes on the other meant I could blast through articles while half ignoring the chaos around me. Plus I just used regular earbuds, nothing fancy, and set up in a corner where I could watch my back. That little screen made the whole trip feel way more productive than I expected...
